On Tuesday, 15th September 2020, the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of understanding with the Uganda Development Bank Limited in a bid to solidify their relationship in regards to the future planned projects that will jointly be run to ensure the sustainable development of the private sector in Uganda today. Memorandum of Understanding is centered on vocational and skill empowerment, youth training and business development, women empowerment projects, Small and Medium Enterprises Development and funding, and exploring the future opportunities for the business community to enhance the growth of trade and business across the cross and bridge the gap between the business community and the financial institution through financial access and literacy. This Memorandum of understanding takes immediate effect and should be covering over 8 projects that have already been in the pipeline for the two institutions. The Memorandum of understanding was signed by the chamber president, Ms. Olive Z. Kigongo representing Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Ms. Patricia Ojangole, Managing Director, Uganda Development Bank Limited Ms. Patricia Ojangole commended the great work and effort of the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce towards the growth of Business community in Uganda and is looking forward to the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding.
